Those of us working the graveyard shift here at Piki Geek don’t get much excitement. Luckily, Adhesive Games defied that late last night with gameplay from their new game, "Hawken". They blew us away earlier this month with the first glimpse of gameplay footage, and this latest trailer definitely has the same effect. Check it out after the jump.
Hawken, billed as a "mech combat FPS," is a game built for multiplayer. Two yet-unrevealed game modes will be the primary selling point, as well as more traditional deathmatch modes.
A small outfit from Los Angeles, Adhesive Games shows us once again how indie games can beat out even the biggest monoliths. Adhesive is tight-lipped about the game’s release, making sure to disclaim that any promotional materials are at a prototype status. Their website, as with all infuriatingly good indie projects, tautologically says that the game will be done when it’s done.
Adhesive hopes to release "Hawken" for download on the 360, PS3, and PC. They report that the game is developed using the Unreal Engine, so expect it to be runnable on anything that bleeps, bloops, and has a graphics card.
Big thanks to Antiman1337 on Reddit! This is what I stay up until 2AM for.

My goodness that’s gorgeous!
I saw this last night, and I’m super impressed by the sound design. Everything sounds literally just as it should. They sound like mechs. There aren’t any weird soldier grunts or out of place music cues. It’s just mechs in a weird future town fighting.
I can’t believe this is going to be a downloadable title. nytrik is dead on about the sound design; it’s impeccable thus far.
Get the eff outta here, this is a downloadable title? Alright, Adhesive, you got me.
I really hope they release this for the PC.
This gameplay looks awesome, the graphics look amazing, but what stood out to me the most was the fantastic sound design. Great job by Adhesive!
Oo wow… I’m so like floored by this! Never heard of these guys before, but their attention to detail on the mechs is OUTSTANDING!
Just hope the price point is $15 of below, $15 would be about right for this kind of quality.
I am excited fr this, and a lot of things look good from the trailer. I really do like the HUD and as stated the sound design is also really good. The only thing I could really ask for is a change of environments because I am still burnt out on urban combat.
I have the biggest boner for mech games and this one looks excellent. My only wish is that there was more environmental damage.
I can’t believe how good this looks. Can’t wait to learn more.
Hawken looks cool, but its a mech game! Why can’t I destroy individual pieces of the mech?!? WTF?1?
