Back in November, Chris Bringhurst – aka big_dirt – hit us with 200 iconic gaming characters reimagined in a Mega Man style. More than half a year later, Chris’s masterpiece is finally complete, clocking in at 375 total sprites. From Advance Wars to Zero Wing, I can’t think of one iconic character he’s passed up. But if you can, you could win a printed poster of the whole shebang!

Now that you’ve taken a gander at the enormous poster, we’d like to issue you a challenge.
CONTEST: In the comments below, tell Chris what iconic video game character he’s missing from his poster. At the end of the week, Chris will go through the comments and pick the five best suggestions. After choosing the winners, he’ll make custom sprites of the suggested characters and email them to you! Additionally, we’ll be sending posters to the people who suggested them. Woo!

Seconded. Also a distinct lack of Raz from Psychonauts. And American Mcgee’s Alice. And Helghast. And yes, the only superhero I see is Batman. Spiderman and the X-men, at the very least, ought to be on there. And the fact that you included Mortal Kombat, but not Street Fighter: THE ORIGINAL FIGHTING GAME is so ridiculous that I’m pretty sure you’re messing with us. Tekken and Soul Calibur should be there too. And some DBZ characters because the Budokai games are awesome. However, HE DOES have the vast majority of the characters people are saying he doesn’t. Altair, JC Denton, and Guybrush Threepwood are all up there, just look a little harder. And the poster is awesome. First, a small rant. Where is Tommy vercetti? GTA IV is a great title, no question, but as far as Grand Theft Auto goes, Vice City was legendary, hell Vice City is legendary as far as gaming itself goes. My best suggestions for missed characters are Gabe and Tycho from Penny Arcade. They’re a pretty big part of gaming culture, plus they’re even in their own game.
