Hey PC gamers, are your rage cannons warmed up? If not they’re about to be, because according to VG247, all PC copies of Mass Effect 3 – whether you buy physical or digital – will require you to install EA’s content delivery service Origin.
Of course, that also means that the game won’t be released on Steam either. The reason given was that Steam has “a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content.” The same reason was given for not releasing Battlefield 3 on Steam.
So what say you, PC playing Mass Effect fans? Are you so attached to your version of Commander Shepard that you’ll put up with Origin, or will you switch to a console? Wait, what are you doing with that peg leg and eyepatch? Oh, I see what you’re getting at, and it’s wrong.

I had planned to get in on PC, until I heard a while back that they’d be ramming Origin down my throat. Now, I’ll probably rent it on a console instead. Your loss, EA.
Started the series on the 360, guess I’ll end it on the 360 now too.
*hides cutlass and flintlock pistol* Huh? *runs*
“Do what you want cause a pirate is free! You are a pirate!
Already have Origin..this doesn’t affect me. While Origin is no Steam, its not all that bad as everyone makes it up to be.
Well, if it uses Origin to authenticate the copy as legit, will I still have to put the physical disk in my drive? It would seem redundant.
